Wozu Alpakas?

Wozu Alpakas? Entdecken Sie die vielseitige Bedeutung dieser besonderen Tiere – von hochwertiger Wolle bis hin zu tiergestützten Erlebnissen. Alpacas are extremely low-maintenance farm animals that survive on very little pasture and 1-2 kg of hay per day. They provide valuable wool that doesn’t require brushing and neither cause trampling damage nor contaminate the pasture, as they create dung heaps from which the fertilizer „alpaca gold“ can be harvested.
Alpacas are also safe with children, calm, intelligent, robust, and peaceful, even with other animals. Transporting and training them is very easy compared to other farm animals.

Some people acquire a herd of these diverse animals in the hope of making money. However, this approach is not worthwhile in most cases, as you have to invest a lot of heart and soul, time and work in the risky business of alpacas.
Most breeders earn a little extra money in their free time at best, and only a few run an alpaca farm as their main job. The intention behind such an acquisition should always be the joy of dealing with the animals, as a large part of your free time is spent on this. After gathering experience and knowledge, and developing a feel for alpaca husbandry, success will follow. This can be achieved through selling animals, processing wool, trekking, therapy, or in rare cases, selling meat.
